Quarto plates refer to hot rolled plates with a thickness of more than 12 mm that are not coiled during the production process. The raw material slabs and ingots are heated to 1,250°c and then deformed on the quartz plate production equipment. Here they are pressed thinner and thinner under thousands of tons of pressure until they reach the required thickness and width. Depending on the grade of steel or stainless steel used (e.G. Aisi 304, 316, 430, etc.), the sheets undergo further processing steps to obtain a surface that is as flat as possible and free of "wrinkles". After that, trim stainless steel quarto plates to length and width.
